Agflation

Inflation is a common word in most people’s dictionary but agflation is fast becoming the catchphrase within the food deprived society that we live in today. The rising cost of one of life’s biggest necessity is the talk of town these days. This can be attributed to the fact that the world has been hard hit by several catastrophes especially floods that destroyed both crops and animals, two important source of nutrition for humans. The US Midwest was also greatly affected by fierce downpours of rain causing corn and soybean prices to skyrocket. Coupled with the fact that gas prices are also rising astronomically, scientists are now researching for ways to counter the shortage of food by introducing enhanced crop growing methods.
